The track-guided difference

A cleaner seal at the sides, with no cords or cranks.

Unlike traditional outdoor blinds that hang freely or rely on ropes and buckles, the Ziptrak system keeps the fabric securely connected within slim side tracks. This reduces side gaps and fabric movement while giving the installation a more integrated architectural finish.

The patented spring-balanced system supports most of the blind's weight. Simply guide the bottom bar by hand and release it at the height you want. When fully lowered, manual blinds lock into place at both ends.

  • No ropes, cords or chains
  • Stops at any desired height
  • Locks when fully lowered
  • Custom measured for each opening

A complete engineered system

Every component is designed to work together.

A genuine Ziptrak installation is more than fabric fitted between two posts. The track, spline, bottom bar, spring balance, locks and end components form one coordinated system.

We use genuine Ziptrak-approved components so the blind operates smoothly, stays correctly retained in its tracks and maintains the strength and durability expected from the system.

Side-retained fabricThe spline is held inside the vertical tracks to reduce flapping and open side gaps.
Purpose-built bottom barBalances the blind, supports smooth movement and provides a secure lower finish.
Integrated locking partsManual blinds lock at both ends when fully lowered.

Why choose Ziptrak

Six practical advantages you notice every day.

Protection from the elements

Side-retained fabric helps reduce wind, rain, dust, glare and insects entering the outdoor area.

Effortless hand operation

The spring-balanced system takes the weight out of lifting and lowering a manual blind.

Control at any height

Leave the blind partly open for airflow, light or access instead of choosing only fully up or down.

Safer, uncluttered design

No hanging cords, chains or cranks means fewer visual distractions around children and pets.

Protection for furniture

Solar mesh helps reduce direct sun and glare on outdoor furniture, flooring and entertaining areas.

Made for the architecture

Custom sizing, powder-coated frames and optional pelmets create a neat, built-in appearance.

Built for demanding openings

Confident performance, from exposed patios to extra-wide spans.

Correct specification matters. We assess the opening size, structure, fabric and wind exposure before recommending the system layout.

160 km/h tested wind speed*

Securely retained in the tracks

Specialised installation options are available for wind-exposed areas. The fabric remains captured within the side tracks instead of hanging freely.

*Up to 160 km/h in a controlled test on a 2.5 m × 2.5 m blind with the specified wind-region installation method. Site conditions and final specification vary.

Large opening capability

Depending on fabric and site conditions, sunscreen mesh systems can reach up to 6 metres wide and clear PVC systems up to 5.5 metres wide, with heights up to 3.5 metres.

Choose your fabric

Solar mesh or clear PVC?

The right material depends on whether your priority is airflow and privacy, or a clearer weather barrier and uninterrupted view.

Most versatile

Sunscreen mesh

Perforated outdoor mesh filters sun and glare while allowing ventilation. The openness and colour of the weave determine the view, privacy and level of weather protection.

  • Daytime privacy
  • Filtered outward view
  • Better airflow
  • Many colours and weave densities

Best for: Residential patios, west-facing openings and spaces where ventilation matters.

Maximum outlook

Clear or tinted PVC

Solid, dimensionally stable PVC creates a stronger barrier against wind and rain while retaining the view. It can also help hold the existing temperature in a more enclosed alfresco area.

  • Clear outward visibility
  • Stronger weather barrier
  • Helps reduce dust and insects
  • Clear and smoke-tinted options

Best for: Cafes, exposed entertaining areas and spaces where the view is more important than privacy.

Operation options

Choose hands-on simplicity or push-button convenience.

Manual

Spring-balanced control

Move the bottom bar by hand and release it at any position. Manual blinds lock at the bottom for a secure hold when fully lowered.

Motorised

Remote or automated control

A practical choice for large, high or grouped blinds. Depending on the selected motor, control can include a remote, wall switch or compatible automation.

Common questions

Before choosing Ziptrak blinds.

Can Ziptrak blinds be used in windy conditions?

Correctly measured and installed track-guided blinds are designed for exposed outdoor use. In windy conditions, keep a manual blind either fully lowered and locked or fully retracted. Always retract blinds during very strong winds, storms or severe weather.

Will Ziptrak blinds make an area completely waterproof?

They improve protection from wind and rain, but an outdoor blind is not the same as a permanent waterproof wall. Performance depends on the fabric, opening, surrounding structure, wind direction and installation details.

Can they be fitted to an existing pergola or patio?

Often, yes. The structure needs suitable fixing points and enough room for the tracks, bottom bar and fabric roll. We confirm this during the on-site measure.

How wide can a Ziptrak outdoor blind be?

Current Ziptrak system limits allow sunscreen mesh blinds up to 6 metres wide and clear PVC blinds up to 5.5 metres wide, with a maximum height of 3.5 metres. Final sizing depends on the selected fabric and installation. Wider openings can often be divided using multiple blinds and removable posts.

How should outdoor blinds be cleaned?

Use a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush with an approved mild cleaner, then rinse gently. Avoid abrasives, solvents, window cleaner on PVC and high-pressure hoses. Let the blind dry fully before rolling it up.

What does the 5-year warranty cover?

Genuine Ziptrak system components carry a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. Fabric is supplied by specialist fabric manufacturers and may have separate warranty terms, which we explain with your quote.
