Slim cable-guided outdoor blinds
External window shading with discreet stainless-steel cable guides for a lighter, less bulky architectural finish.

Shade before heat reaches the glass
Wire guided blinds place a screen fabric outside the window, helping reduce solar heat and glare before they enter the room. Fine vertical cables guide the bottom bar while keeping the sides visually open.
This makes them a strong choice when you want more control than a free-hanging blind without the heavier appearance of enclosed side tracks.
Why choose wire guided
Stainless-steel guides are far less visually dominant than full side channels.
Mesh fabric intercepts direct sun before it reaches the window glass.
The guided bottom rail helps reduce sideways movement compared with a free-hanging blind.
Screen fabrics soften glare and improve privacy while retaining an outdoor connection.
Motorisation makes elevated, difficult-to-reach and grouped blinds easy to operate.
Custom hardware colours help the cassette and bottom rail sit neatly with the facade.
How it works
Tensioned stainless-steel cables run vertically beside the fabric and guide the bottom bar as the blind travels. The result is a restrained system suited to windows, balconies and modern elevations.

Good to know: wire guided blinds retain small open gaps at each side. They provide shade and guidance, but do not create the sealed enclosure or stronger edge retention of a Ziptrak system.
Operation options
Choose the operation method around the size, position and frequency of use. Motorisation is especially practical for upper-storey windows and several blinds working together.
A straightforward manual option for accessible windows and everyday adjustment.
Operate elevated or grouped blinds from a switch or compatible remote-control system.
Open view or solar protection
When retracted, the system leaves the glazing open. Lower the mesh when the sun, heat or glare becomes uncomfortable.

Recent installations
Examples across brick, rendered and upper-storey facades show how the light cable system adapts to different window sizes and building styles.

Choosing the right system
They can look similar from a distance, but each manages the fabric edge differently. We will recommend the system that suits the opening, exposure and finish you want.
Frequently asked questions
No. Fine tensioned cables guide the bottom rail on each side, leaving the fabric edges open and the installation visually lighter.
The cables improve alignment and reduce movement compared with an unguided blind, but they are not a fully restrained track system. Blinds should be retracted during strong winds and severe weather.
Yes. Motorisation is particularly useful for high windows, large blinds or several units that you want to operate together.
Screen mesh can retain a filtered outward view while reducing glare and direct sun. Visibility varies with fabric openness, colour and lighting conditions.
No. The open side gaps mean they are primarily a solar-control and privacy product. Choose Ziptrak when stronger edge retention or a more enclosed outdoor room is the priority.
